There are many accounting systems already out there for a very long while. In fact this system of ours is a development from our old system which has been in use since the late 80's. So why produce another accounting package?

It's time for change! The change brings higher productivity, substantial cost saving and gives you better control over your data and reporting. You should be able to handle your data any way you want and use it in other programs. You should be able to archive your data and recall it years later without requiring our system to do so. And Multi-user mode should come standard!

Emphasis on Security and Internal Control.

Be aware that most corporate losses (fraudulent or otherwise) arise from breaches and weaknesses in internal control systems. With our background in auditing and corporate management, we have a system here that gives you greater control over these issues.

Rebo-Data was set up in mid 2004 to put to market this radically unique system aimed at the small to medium business to provide them with a large-scale system that is extraordinarily easy to implement and use and at the same time be absolutely affordable.

We have come up with not merely an accounting package but a whole business management system. It is a modular system which allows the user to add on as the need arises and is scalable up to a large system. In fact we have effectively set ourselves up as a co-op IT Department which all users can tap into. You request a report or a feature and we produce it!

Platform Independent

The system is totally independent of whatever type of computer you are using. So long as you have a web browser and Internet access (though this is not necessary if the system is installed in house), you are able to run the program without any installation steps. Log in and away you go - from anywhere!

The system is based entirely on community-based open source material. This is to ensure future-proofing of our system as well as the data stored, and we have no wish to lock users in to our system. With open source systems we are able to make it easy for users to migrate their data to other systems if they choose to do so. We will even assist in migrating data to or from our system at a very friendly charge-rate!

The database software used is PostGreSQL, the world's most advanced open-source database and on par with the best of the commercial offerings. The advantage of our system running on PostGreSQL is that you can download and install the database program for FREE and work off backups from our main database.

Infrastructure

Without any expenditure in setting up a network (hardware, cabling and IT costs) you are immediately reaping the benefits of a networked system that straddles the globe. You can make it big or small - the choice is completely yours as the diagrams below show:

Our software is run on the Web Application Server. All your computers that can currently access the Internet, will be able to run our system. Therefore for no additional installation cost or licensing fees, you have established a powerful worldwide-networked multiuser system.  There is no longer a need for batch processing and waiting till the next day to see a branch's performance. All the data is constantly live and current - to the second!

All communication between each and every computer and the Web Application Server are on secure links using high level encryption.

Alternatively, you can have the server installed in your premises and serving your entire internal network (figure above).

With your own server you will be able to extend the application to workstations all over the world - as shown below.
