Welcome to the demonstration of REBO-DATA's leading-edge business system.

We do not call it an accounting system because it really is much more than that! It is a sophisticated database system that

  • helps you improve customer relations,
  • provides better intelligence about your business,
  • gives you a very comprehensive analysis of sales and
  • helps you streamline your operation.

This heavy-duty system is capable of handling large databases with great speed. Using our web-based system, you are able to link all your offices or branches to a central database with no limit to the number of users and without any increase in infrastructure costs.

This application is the fruit of 25 years of accounting, computing and corporate experiences. In fact the DOS and Unix versions of this system have been in use for over 15 years. The state of technology now, especially the widespread use of broadband, has enabled us to re-write the system for general use over the Web.

It caters for unlimited currencies, unlimited tax-rates and is automatically multi-lingual.

In spite of its power and scope, we believe it is the easiest accounting system ever. Our unique free-flowing general ledger system has done away with the usual rigid numbers system. This makes the dreaded Chart of Accounts a breeze to set up and maintain. Furthermore, it comes pre-loaded with accounts that will get most businesses up and running almost immediately.

Our screens are totally free of clutter and all pages are designed for user-friendliness and greatest speed over the Net. You get serious work done efficiently and FAST.

It is by no means perfect. That is why we have set ourselves up as your own IT Department. You can submit requests for modifications, new reports or analyses and they will be attended to very promptly – mostly at no charge.

Please note that this demo is presently available only to a select few and the project is still work in progress. You will therefore find missing links and error messages. This is a very early sampling of what is in store and the pages are updated on a daily basis.

The demo database is there for you to have a real go at. We have loaded the demo with sample data for you to assess the speed as well as to enable you to start producing reports and edit records and so forth. There are some 770 customer records and 350 price list items to give you an idea of the system's performance. The database will be refreshed from time to time. Therefore don't be alarmed if the data you enter disappears.

Design Philosophy

The system is based entirely on community-based open source material. This is to ensure future-proofing of our system as well as the data stored, and we have no wish to lock users in to our system. With open-source systems we are able to make it easy for users to migrate their data to other systems if they choose to do so.

The database software used is PostGreSQL, the world's most advanced open-source database and on par with the best of the commercial offerings. The advantage of our system running on PostGreSQL is that you can download and install the database program for FREE and work off backups from our main database.

The system is designed to handle large databases with rapid response times under heavy workloads and at the same time be extremely easy to use. Its modular design means that we can adapt the system to meet any special needs. It is therefore suitable for a wide range of businesses big and small and is affordable to even the smallest businesses.
